Life Is Meant to Be a Party, So Let’s Start Creating!

Hello my fabulous friends!

Welcome to the first day of Pamela Giacometti. I am so excited and proud to share with you a piece of inspiration. Inspiration and positivity is what this place will be about. So stay tuned for more. 🙂

For my first post, I wanted to recommend a book that I recently read, and that has changed my perspective on life and myself. Maybe some of you have already heard of Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert.

If not, I highly recommend you stopping by your local bookstore and picking up a copy.  I received Big Magic as a present last December and when I finished reading it, my soul was jumping up and down screaming “Yeeeees! Life is meant to be a party! So let’s start creating!” In my opinion, Elizabeth Gilbert succeeds with inspiring her readers to accept that fear can be like our own shadow that will never leave us. So we might as well take a picture with it and become best friends forever. Her words encourage you to believe that the purpose of life is to work together with creativity and create whatever it is our heart desires – every day. Even when our friend The Shadow of Fear tries to stop us by saying: “No, no… you might fail” or “no, no that’s too scary for you.”

I am no writer by profession and I have never received any formal training.  So even writing this post for an audience was a bit of an argument with my own Shadow of Fear. I can’t promise my writing will be perfect, but I can promise you that I will always write from my heart.

And with that being said, I leave you with a few of my favorite phrases from Big Magic. If you find any truth in the words below, then I think you will love this book as much as I do.

“Fear is boring.”

“One of the oldest and most generous tricks that the universe plays on human beings is to bury strange jewels within us all, and then stand back to see if we can ever find them.”

“Creative living is living a life.”

With lots of smiles,

Pam
