Socialist who likes to drink wine.

Last night over dinner with friends, we were discussing capitalism and its effects on the workplace.

As we talked about how capitalism affects people differently, one of my friends described someone close to them as a “socialist who likes to drink wine”.

A socialist who likes to drink wine.

I like it. I resonate with that.

It captures the duality – the tension within. The appreciation for the materialistic comforts capitalism brings to my life, while also feeling repelled by its cost to our connected human experience.
