In Memory of Korner Six.

“I think you are afraid and are looking for ways to distract your self.” These are the words that came out of T’s mouth as I kept blurting different blog names out loud.

“I’m not afraid” I said.

“I just don’t know what to do next and I need to channel my energy somewhere.”

It’s true. I have three pending projects on my mind. One that is already alive and somewhat known on the world wide web. And two that are in the pipeline. I am also about to be unemployed in less than two weeks with a pending move to another country on the horizon. To say there is a lot on my plate would be an accurate description.

The Rise of Korner Six.

Korner Six is my second blog. The first one was launched in 2016 with my name as the domain. I really enjoyed blogging but constantly felt like I was holding back on everything I wanted to say. You see, the thing is, when you put your own name as the blog name, your ego attaches itself to every word you write. What will people think? Will I offend someone? Will I come off like an asshole? Will I come off like that stereotypical entitled “millennial”? There was a lot of fear behind my computer screen.

So why Korner Six? Simple. This is my corner of the internet. Corner is spelled Korner because someone parked their ass on the domain cornersix . com and I don’t really feel like engaging in domain name bidding right now. I also think Korner Six looks hipper than Corner Six which I later became concerned that it was looking like Korner Sex because that is only one stone’s throw from becoming the Sex Korner and I’m not sure that is the kind of place my corner will ever be.

What does Korner Six even mean?

Six came from the 6 Ws: Who, What, When, Where, Why and How. How is the odd one out but it still serves it’s purpose of “information gathering and problem solving”. You can read all about it here.

I realised life is in constant movement around these 5 Ws and 1 H and this internet Korner belongs to just that. Asking, questioning and sharing personally discovered answers.

Originally I wanted to call it My Six Ws but T pointed out that people might not know how to spell that unless they see it in writing. “Do you type the number 6?” or “Do you spell it out?” “How do you write Ws?” “What happens if one day you want to brand your blog?” “Will your brand be My Six Ws?” “Are you sure you will like that?”

Gosh! So many choices and points to consider! Not just in domain name picking, but in life. No wonder we all turn to Instagram for distraction.

I feel good starting this blog. I have been wanting to do this for a long time. A space to express.

Welcome to Korner Six my friends. Update: Korner Six has been shut down. Who has time to maintain two blogs? And anyway, the internet is crowded enough.
